The old model is worn out.  Does it work? Yes.  Is it efficient? No. It is time to learn how the top gurus in the business not only build their team but then subsequently keep their team happy and busy. A friend of mine has spent the last decade perfecting this science and has let me in to his little secret.  I am now going to share that secret with you.  Make sure you take notes

This is a typical day for my friend Mark who has built an mlm business that generates him over $250,000 a year in passive income.

He usually gets up at around 7:30 in the morning and makes himself a cup of Kona coffee.  As he takes his first sip he logs into his computer and starts up his autoresponder service.

In less than 10 minutes over ten-thousand cheap mlm leads are uploaded and the automation program sends out an e-mail invitation to all of them.

The e-mail is basically just encouraging people to visit one of his many “business opportunity” websites he has set up.  It’s a blanket approach and less than 5% of the recipients will respond.

Within the next ten days the autoresponder will send those 10,000 e-mail addresses to those mlm leads that he bought at really cheap discount. The message stays the same but it written in different words.  Each one is inviting the person to visit his website and learn more information about how he can one day quit his job and become financially independent (who doesn’t want that, right).

After setting his program up he usually will take care of all his daily activities.  He walks his son to school each day, goes to 24 Hour Fitness to lift weights and then experiment with some other online businesses he recently started.

On any given day he will get a response from four solid leads.  These are people who know that the business opportunity has to do with network marketing, have visited his web site, read the report on the website and requested more information.

When he just started out he would contact these hot leads himself.  Now he forwards the information to his down line.  He lets his team contact the prospects and he just closes them if they have problems.

During any given day he has over ten pre-qualified leads that he can call himself or feed to his down line.

He uploads 10,000 leads per day.  During any given month he has spent less than an hour contacting over three-hundred thousand people about his mlm business opportunity.

The end result is that he has more people to contact than he knows what to do with. He literally can spend a whole day just following up on the leads that he has created.

Efficient. Effortless. Smart. This is the only way that I feel someone in 2012 can successfully build a mlm business that generates cash.

The whole concept of pleading with your friends, begging your mom to sign up or chasing someone you meet at the local supermarket will work if you want to spend a decade building your team.  People who have been in the game for a long time know better.

His concept is simple and it works.  Buy cheap mlm leads and then use an autoresponder program to build your team.  After you have build your down line use the same method to feed them hot leads. Keeps your whole team busy doing what pays: showing the business model to warm-hot prospects.

Go Out Frequently And Talk To Everyone You Meet

In order to grow your business you will need a monthly fresh batch of recruits.  No matter what kind of product or service you are representing the failure to properly bring in talent to your down line will kill any aspirations currently have.

Stay Away From People You Know, Initially

What is one to do when he has exhausted many of his initial sources?  I am sure you were encouraged to talk to the people you already knew.  This no doubt included your family (bad idea), friends (worse idea) and finally your co-workers (terrible idea).  These are individuals I do not believe you should share your business plan with until you are already underway.  Far too many relationships have been damaged because of this.  You will quickly find that people stop answering your phone calls when you start talking about multi-level marketing with them.  If you succeed there will be a time and a place but not in the beginning.  In fact, I have found that in the beginning those people will just sign up to help you out and do absolutely nothing with the business.

Are You An Extrovert or An Introvert?

According to one of the most popular and accurate personality tests in the entire world, referred to as the Myers-Briggs Test Indicator, all humans are either extroverts or introverts.

One group of humans loves to interact and talk with other people.  They live going out, engaging other humans and crave social interaction.

The other group prefers to be by themselves, only talk when necessary and becomes drained when exploded to large crowds.  I want to be clear when I say this group does not hate people but are less inclined to seek out other humans on the daily basis, especially new ones they have not previously developed a relationship with.

What does this have to do with recruiting? It has everything to do with recruiting.

Here is a true life experience of something that happened to me three weeks ago.  It’s three in the afternoon on a Thursday and I take a break from work to go get happy hour at a local Mexican restaurant. While I am sitting down, eating chips & salsa waiting for my nachos to arrive, the man next to me starts talking to me.  He begins to chat with me freely like he has known me for a long time.  Being an extrovert myself I do not find this annoying at all. I start to talk with him back.  We have a nice chat over the next hour about sports, traffic, real estate prices in Southern California and how lucky I am that I am 28 and not married.  He then proceeds to tell me that marriage is overrated and that his beautiful daughter has just finished a very ugly divorce.  All great stuff! When we start to get up to leave he asks me if I ever wanted to own my own business.  I say “yes.”  He hands me his business card and gets my number.  We make plans for him to call me a week from now.  When he does I find out that he is part of Amway.

What is the point of telling you that?  I did not end up signing up with him.  I have been affiliated with Amway before and do not find that particular company the least bit exciting.  I think they are a good company and see their logo every time I watch the Orlando Magic but I like innovative and cutting-edge products and toilet paper will not do it for me.

The point is that while it did not work on me I am sure it has worked on other people.  This guy is not rich but is slowly and steadily building a stable down line for himself and has starting to see a few nice checks come in.

He is doing things the right way.  He is talking with everyone he meets.  When Jim called me we had a nice long conversation over the phone and he told me that he goes out to lunch almost every day and makes it a point to talk to at least one person in the restaurant about his business opportunity.

If he continues to do this every week on a consistent basis there is no way he can fail. One of the individuals he will recruit will be a rock star and tear it up thereby catapulting his total sales up.

Have A Conversation With Everyone You Meet

Go to bars, restaurants, malls, lounges, parks, coffee shops or anywhere else where they are people. Be social.  If you are an introvert you will have to learn to frequently interact with new people.  It will be difficult at first but the more you do it the easier it will be.

Do not start off talking about business.  Shoot the breeze with people.  Start a conversation off by mentioning any current topic.  Let a little rapport build for a while.  When the conversation is about to end ask the person if he or she would like to own their own business.  Most people will say yes.  Give them your card and get their phone number.  Tell them in a couple days you will call them.  Do not say exactly what the business is.  Save the details for latter.  Follow up in three days.  Do this every day and I can guarantee you will have success in your business.  Then you can do to the people you know and show them the business.  By then you will have to proof to show them that it works and that what you are doing is not a “scam” by any means.
